At the press conference on urban security of the133rd China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) on April 12, Luo Zheng, deputy director and spokesman of Guangzhou Municipal Commerce Bureau, said that, recently, the Ministry of Transport of People's Republic of China approved the temporary opening of Pazhou-Hong Kong-Macao Passenger Port, opened direct flights from Pazhou to Hong Kong International Airport and downtown Hong Kong, and set up visa-on-arrival services during the Canton Fair.
The construction of Pazhou-Hong Kong-Macao Passenger Port was undertaken by Dunjian Company, a subsidiary of GMC, and successfully passed the completion acceptance in November 2021.
Pazhou-Hong Kong-Macao Passenger Port is located in Yuejiang Middle Road, Pazhou, adjacent to the Pearl River and the Canton Fair Complex, 600 meters away from the Pazhou Bridge. The shoreline of the port is 280 meters long, with five 500-ton berths. The construction of Pazhou-Hong Kong-Macao Passenger Port is divided into two phases. Among them, the floor area of the first phase is 8,500 square meters. The first floor of the joint inspection building is overhead, the second floor is for exit, and the third floor is for entry. Two carbon fiber high-speed passenger ships "Haizhu Lake" and "Haizhu Bay" are put into operation at the port. And a direct route from Pazhou to Hong Kong International Airport has been opened, taking about 120 minutes.

Pazhou-Hong Kong-Macao Passenger Port overlooks the Pearl River with its unique wavy shape, presenting a natural stretching shape like flowing clouds and water. The construction of the Project was commenced in July 2020, including 10 divisional works: foundation and basic division, main structure division, building decoration division, building roof division, building water supply and drainage and heating division, building energy conservation division, building electrical division, ventilation and air conditioning division, intelligent building division, and elevator division.

In the construction process of the project, the complex surrounding environment needs to be overcome. First, the main overhead structure of the first floor spans PHZ-1 line of Guangzhou Haizhu District tram. Because the main structure lifting operation is not allowed during the tram operation, the project duration is affected. Secondly, the south side of the foundation pit is close to the running tram, so it is difficult to evaluate the impact of basement construction on the tram track. Third, Pazhou to Yuancun shield tunnel section of Guangzhou Metro Line 11 under construction passes under the bottom of the foundation pit. The minimum distance between cast-in-place pile and tunnel is only 3.3 meters, and the construction process of cast-in-place pile is greatly affected by subway tunnel construction.
In the face of arduous construction tasks, the Project Department formulated special technical plans and quality assurance measures for each stage in detail, and equipped the project with engineering and technical personnel with a strong sense of responsibility, rich construction experience, and high technical level. The Department continuously strengthens the quality awareness of the management of the project department and the concept of creating famous brand and building high-quality projects.
In order to solve the construction difficulties encountered in the cross-rail construction of this project, the Project Department set up a scientific research team. They have developed four leading horizontal construction technologies in China, which are “Rapid Construction Technology of Cover Structure Across Tram Line”, “Rapid Molding Construction Technology of Permanent Structure Column Based on Special Column System”, “Construction Technology of Prefabricated Steel Structure Main Body ‘Lowering Plate and Raising Height’ Truss Floor” and “Reverse Construction Technology of Super Long Strength Concrete Structure Transfer Beam”. The team has won 3 provincial construction laws of Guangdong Province, 1 first prize and 2 second prize of Science and Technology Award of Guangzhou Construction Industry Association, 1 third prize of Science and Technology Award of Guangdong Construction Industry Association, 1 computer software copyright, and 1 professional grade Award of QC group activity of Guangdong Province Quality Association. At the same time, the team has published 3 scientific research papers, and has applied for 11 utility model patents and invention patents, of which 5 utility model patents have been authorized. At the same time, the project won the 2021 Guangzhou Model Site for Safe, Civilized, and Green Construction of Construction Projects and the 2021 Guangzhou Quality Award for Construction Project Structure.
As a key construction project of Guangdong Province in 2020, a key project of Guangzhou City in 2020, and one of the key projects of Guangzhou International Shipping Center Three-year Action Plan (2018-2020), after its official opening, Pazhou-Hong Kong-Macao Passenger Port will fill the gap of the water cross-border port in the central city of Guangzhou, and promote Guangzhou-Hong Kong-Macao convention and headquarters economic cooperation.
