Recently, the Guangzhou Municipal Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau released the List of Demonstration Enterprises of the Construction Industry in Guangzhou under the "Industry Chain Leader System" (First Batch). GMC's 12 affiliated enterprises have been included in the List, and the enterprises cover seven fields, namely EPC, survey and design, production of prefabricated components, green and functional building materials, production of ready-mixed concrete, engineering testing, and engineering supervision, fully showcasing GMC's advantages in the whole industry chain of the construction industry.

The 12 enterprises play a demonstration and leading role in the high-quality development of the industry chain in Guangzhou's construction industry, and have outstanding performances in multiple aspects such as overall benefits, industrial linkage, innovation, market competition, and industrial agglomeration.

"Industry Chain Backbones" Promote the Integrated Development of the Industry Chain

The industry chain leader system is based on the promotion system of "industry chain leaders + industry chain backbones". As the "industry chain leader" of Guangzhou's construction industry, GMC is making full use of its advantages in industrial development and project resources to promote the integrated development of the industry chain.

Industry chain backbones and bellwethers should take the lead in building nine compound-type industrial parks and related specialized industrial parks to promote industrial agglomeration and integrated development, according to the Three-Year Action Plan of Guangzhou on Building a "Industry Chain Leader System" to Promote the High-quality Development of the Construction Industry and the Planning and Design Industry (2022-2024). In particular, GMC is responsible for the GMC Bay Area Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Base and the "High-end Equipment Manufacturing Innovation Center in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area" in Xiji Island, Huangpu District.

The GMC Bay Area Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Base is so far the largest and most advanced industrial base of prefabricated construction in South China. It has attracted 95 enterprises to settle in, forming an industrial cluster together with municipal, light steel, and testing industrial bases and establishing a "GMC's unique prefabricated construction mode".

Going forward, GMC will accelerate the upgrading and capacity expansion of the GMC Bay Area Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Base and the renovation of supporting infrastructure in the Base to grant each component with one code, in order to easily trace process and quality and build a whole industry chain of prefabricated buildings covering R&D, design, production, logistics, construction, and installation.

Built based on the existing Jinbo Logistics Park by GMC, the High-end Assembly Manufacturing Innovation Center in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area serves as the starting area, innovation area, core area and demonstration area for GMC's new industrialized carrier establishment of the construction industry. As of now, GMC has completed the first phase of the Innovation Center Project, and the second phase was commenced in 2022. Currently, four industrial bases are under construction, including three R&D manufacturing centers of modular construction, prefabricated decoration and prefabricated electromechanical equipment, as well as one steel finishing center.

Following that, some intelligent and low-carbon renovation projects will be launched to improve the infrastructure of water, electricity and gas in the park and a comprehensive service platform for low-carbon technology innovation, R&D, promotion and application will be established. Meanwhile, efforts will also be made to strengthen the industrial incubation and team incubation capability building of the park to create a full-chain service system that covers the startup, growth, and maturity stages of enterprises.
